On the 21st June 1919, the German Navy kindly scuttled their fleet in Scapa Flow. Ninety years to the day we jumped off the Radiant Queen dive boat to dive the wreck of the Coln.

We had a brilliant week diving the wrecks. Emily our skipper was great and dropped us on various guns for me to paint, she really put herself out to help me. Her delicious home cooked lunches kept us going all day, especially her wicked veggie options. Radiant Queen is a great boat and Emily caters for small and large groups as well as individuals.

We also saw Bob, skipper of MV Halton who we normally dive with, his liveaboard was full so he put us in touch with Emily and we all gained a few pounds. If you dare to refuse a cream scone she’ll force it into your mouth anyway!

That week we also dived with Mark, Martin and Paul from Sport Diver magazine, my partner Chris, Filip ( European Rolex Scholar ), Liam & James from Scapa Scuba, Ryan ‘ DAN boy’ and a few others .

We met some really interesting people and had great dives. It was brilliant diving the wrecks on the 90th anniversary. We also had 2 weeks diving and painting the blockships on the Churchill barriers. And Ben at Scapa Scuba fixed my teabag of a drysuit so I was actually dry!

Thanks to everyone for a great trip, lots of laughs, scones and beers!!
